From the beginning of the new year until next December, when the annual STRIPES celebration will take place, the academy introduces a new recognition initiative for its young athletes: the STRIPES for Life Awards. These awards will be presented during our annual event and reflect the philosophy and values that guide the academy throughout the entire season.

Why STRIPES Presents Awards

At STRIPES, awards are not designed to compare or rank children. Instead, they serve as an educational tool that recognises positive behaviour, effort, and attitudes aligned with the academy’s values. Our focus is on the learning process, cooperation, respect, and the overall development of the child, not on performance or results. In this way, the awards support all children and promote a healthy, safe, and encouraging sporting environment.

1. Effort and Personal Improvement Award (Improvement)

Awarded to the athlete who demonstrates consistent effort, progress, and a willingness to learn throughout the season, regardless of competitive level. It recognises the process of development rather than the final outcome.
Message: We do not reward the best player, but the one who strives to become better.

2. Teamwork and Respect Award (Team and Rules)

Awarded to athletes who stand out for their cooperation, respect towards teammates, opponents, and coaches, and for their positive attitude on and off the field.
Message: Football is a team sport, and character matters.

3. Responsibility and Behaviour Award (Safeguarding and Rules)

Awarded to athletes who act as positive role models by following rules, showing self control, and contributing to a safe and supportive training environment.
Message: Proper behaviour is an essential part of football education.

4. Passion and Positive Attitude Award (Passion)

Awarded to athletes who show love for the game, positive energy, and a willingness to participate, regardless of playing time or position within the team.
Message: Enjoyment of the game is a fundamental part of development.

5. STRIPES for Life Award (All STRIPES Values)

Awarded to the athlete who, throughout the season, consistently embodied the core values of STRIPES: respect, teamwork, effort, responsibility, and a positive attitude. This award is not based on performance, but on overall presence and behaviour.
Message: Football leaves values for life.
